Position Description

Optum WA is seeking an Palliative Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our care team. This role supports Optum’s mission to improve healthcare through clinician-led, patient-centered care

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct home, office, phone, and telehealth visits
  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments
  • Interpret diagnostic tests and perform procedures within scope
  • Provide and oversee treatment plans, including prescribing medications
  • Educate patients and families on health conditions and care plans
  • Document care accurately and code/bill per protocols
  • Collaborate with palliative care and other healthcare teams
  • May participate in research and evidence-based practice initiatives

  • Required Qualifications

    • Graduate of an accredited NP or PA program
    • WA state license (or ability to obtain)
    • Board certification
    • Eligible for State Controlled Substance License and Federal DEA Certificate (II–V)
    • BLS certification
    • Comfortable working in home, clinic, and virtual settings

    Preferred Qualifications

    • 2+ years of experience in internal medicine or geriatrics in a clinic setting
